Resolved Question: Overnight Leave in Navy A School?
I’m going to be attending A school in Great Lakes sometime early February. My girlfriend will also be in A school in Pensacola FL at about the same time (only about a month ahead of me). I’ve heard you gain privileges as time moves on, such as being able to leave base, and sometimes even overnights. I’m curious if I’d be able to fly down to Pensacola to visit my girlfriend one weekend? My recruiter told me during A school I’d be able to even catch a plane home once I had all my privileges. Is this true? I just don’t want to get my hopes up…..

We’ve lived in Miami, FL for over 25 years and have had our 5 kids here, but we are now ready for a change of scenery. I have a friend that moved to Virginia and my husband had a friend that moved to Texas. They’re both bidding for us to move to their neck of the woods (sending us job listings and home rental info). We don’t know which State is better or if we should choose an entirely different State! I just know that we do want water nearby (sea, lakes or rivers), we want the changes in seasons and beautiful landscapes.
My daughter wants to be an actress, so somewhere that she can develop her skills while still in high school.
I hope y’all can help me get an idea of where to move my family.
