Resolved Question: Hippie Problem. Please Help!?
My family owns a property near Inverelle and Glen Innes in NSW Queensland and just behind our property is something the people call ‘Om Shalom’. The 2 properties are seperated by a river right at the back, but the people are allowed in the river (it is technically our river, but we let the other people in it). We have always called these people ‘Hippies’ because they used to be traditional hippies (no school, naked, etc). But just yesterday my cousin and I were at the Hippy Hole (the river that seperates the properties), and three kids about 14, 13 and an 8 year old were there. They were all girls.
These girls saw my cousin and I coming, so they randomly started to talk to us. But then they started to get agressive. The 8 year old was the most abusive. She said the ‘F’ word inbetween every word and a lot of other words that eight year olds shouldnt know.
The 14 year old was wearing clothes bought from Supre (I visited Supre a few days ago and saw those clothes), and a lot of makeup. The other 2 girls were wearing rag like clothes. The little girl asked where we live and I replyed with ‘all around the world’. Then I asked her where she lives (even know I already knew), and she said on this property. She asked what we were doing at the lake and my cousin said that it was our families property, and they were guests there.
The eight year old said the river was called ‘Om Shalom Lake’ and that it belonged to her family. My cousin and I laughed our heads off because we thought it was an extreamly funny name that she just made up, but she also said thats the name of her families property. The whole time she was calling me and my cousin names. They would not believe that it was our property, not theirs.
When my cousin and I got sick of swearing, we got up to leave, and they followed us to the gate. Just next to the gate is two old shearing sheds. The little girl said she always goes there and plays in them. They are forbidden to go in our property, but are still allowed in the river. She also said she goes to the pinacle (the highest point on the property) and that mountain also belongs to us.
We have had issues with the hippies stealing sheep in the past, and just yesterday we got a phone call from the person who takes care of the sheep, saying there are some missing and he thinks the hippies took them again.
These people are real pests, and we dont want them on our land, is there anything we can do about them? They are also hippies, so are there any precautions we need to take? And can someone please give me some details on ‘Om Shalom’. It is a real place, and I want to know more. And why would they swear so much. They were swearing at us because we dont swear! The little kid said something about going to a school were they teachers give you lessons on how to swear. What school is this?
